promise of a poet

Let’s make a pact, to never run away from each other, even when our boat seems to sink. For those who abandon the boats, are mice, to kill themselves in the sea of uncertainty. Even the calm water can swallow huge ships when a single rivets breaks, letting the murderous water inside the sanctum of our trust.

Let’s make a pact to never betray, even when the axes of lies are lined to chop our feet from moving further. For when the warriors fall, they fall from the galloping horse, not from a slithering snake. Even sharp grass blades can slice the flesh apart, bleeding our union to death.

Let’s make a pact to never lie, even when it seems easy to save the memories from shattering. For a cat can roar, until the spectators are mice, but shiver away from dogs. Even a little pin can puncture the flight of an airship, bringing it crashing down to the dirty earth.
